Went to Fish store and bought an Aqua Clear 200 sponge, 75 pack of BioBalls, and Aquarium safe silicon. I only needed 6 of the BioBalls, but they only have boxes of 75. They were $10, so I figured that I can still use the others when I get canister filters. I put silicone on the CO2 tube where it meets the gravel tube to prevent leaks. Let sit to dry overnight. I then put six BioBalls and the sponge in dechlorinated water overnight.

I put the BioBalls in the gravel tube and wedged the sponge in the bottom. Then I attached the Diffuser to the powerhead and made a fresh batch of CO2.

My Petdump abstinence has ended. I was forced to go into the Petco I hate by me because the one way down the street did not have any frozen food and I have gone about 3 weeks without bloodworms. So, I went to Petdump and to my surprise, their freezer had all hikari frozen food, so I got some bloodworms and tubifex worms which I have never tried before.

There haven't been too many significant fishy developments until yesterday. I received my Big Al's order of a Rena Filstar xP3 canister filter and a 200 watt Ebo Jager heater. I've wanted to try a canister filter for a long time and I thought I needed it because I could tell that a lot of CO2 was gassing off from the the agitation caused by both Emperor 400s. A few days ago, I bought a 30 gallon Rubbermaid tub that I will use as a quarantine tank. I ordered a 150 watt heater for it, but they sent me a 200 watt one. Today, I did a water change and added ferts as usual. I put the Rubbermaid tub where I wanted it downstairs and filled it with water. I took one of the Tronic heaters from my tank and put it in the tub. Then I put the jager in the tank. I took the media out of both of the Emperor's and put them in the dishwasher on a rinse cycle. During that time, I cleaned both Emps and put one on the tub and the other back in the tank. I took the CO2 diffuser and powerhead out of the tank. I took the U.V. sterilizer and opened it to make sure there were no clogs or anything; everything was fine. I took the filstar and tried to figure out how I was going to get it to hook up to the U.V. in the tank stand. I put a shelf in the stand a few months ago and there isn't that much room vertically. After about fifteen minutes, I figured out that the best way was to put the U.V. on the shelf above the filstar. After tightening everything as much as  I could, I added water to the filter according to the directions and started it up. When I was cleaning up, I was pretty nervous because I kept hearing like water dripping noises and I though the filter was leaking, when it was just some air in the filter that hadn't gotten out yet. I put the Emperor media back in both of them and cleaned up some more, fed the little guys, and finally took a break.
