                              Equipment

Tank Size: 72 gallons

Filtration: One Emperor 400 power filter made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals that pumps 400 gallons per hour (GPH). One Rena Filstar xp3 canister filter that pumps 350 gph. There is a turnover rate of about 10 times. (a turnover rate basically is the amount of times that the water in your tank will completely go through the filters in one hour. You usually want to have a turnover rate of about 8x or so.)

Heaters: one Tronic 200 watt submersible heater made by Hagen and one 200 watt Ebo Jager heater.

Thermometers: two thermometers on either end of the tank about half way up the glass. I honestly have no idea who made them. I guess it really doesn't matter. A thermometer is a thermometer. I usually keep the temperature around 77 degrees.

Lighting: two shop lights from Home Depot with two bulbs in each for 160 watts. There are two 5000K and two 6500K bulbs in the shop lights. They are on a timer that goes on at 11 o'clock and shuts off at 9 o'clock.

DiY CO2: I have three bottles of DiY CO2. The are all connected to one valve and travel through one tube to the DiY CO2 diffuser. I have a Maxi Jet 600(160 GPH) with prefilter sponge pumping the water into the diffuser.

U.V. : 18 watt double helix u.v. sterilizer made by Custom SeaLife. It is attached to the canister filter.

My Weekly Maintenance

Every Saturday, I change about 25% of my water. When I am done filling the tank and adding Stress Coat, I add Flourish, Flourish Iron, Flourish trace, and Flourish Potassium which are all made by SeaChem. I also add these chemicals on Wednesdays.  As for the filters, I take the filter pads out and rinse them very well and put them back in the filters. I have filter fluff in the top compartment of the canister filter that gets changed every week.
